Here’s a horrific story that occurred right in the beginning of 2019.

A 54-year-old man was sleeping when he was allegedly beaten to death by his drunk son inside his own home in Caloocan City.

The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Rhenzie Magbanua, while the victim was identified as 57-year-old Lito Magbanua, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.

The same report stated that Lito was sleeping inside the living room of his house in the village of 178, Sitio 2, Camarin when the suspect barged in at 7:30pm.

Rhenzie, who was reportedly drunk, took a piece of metal and allegedly used it to beat his father on the head and body.

Remate reported that Rhona Mae, the suspect’s sister, overheard him shouting in Filipino “You son of a bitch, I was supposed to kill you yesterday” as he allegedly whacked Lito with the weapon.

The report added that Rhona Mae asked for help from village officials which led to the suspect’s arrest.

She also rushed her father to the Dr. Jose Natalio Rodriguez Memorial Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival, Abante TNT stated.

The motive behind the killing is still unknown, Remate added.

The suspect is detained at the Caloocan City Police Station where he will face charges of parricide.
