Duterte visits wake of slain Pasay cop

President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday visited the wake of a Pasay City policeman who was killed in a drug operation earlier this week.

Duterte arrived at the wake of PO1 Enrico Domingo at around 6:30 p.m., accompanied by his top aide Bong Go and Philippine National Police chief, Director-General Ronald dela Rosa.

Domingo was killed in an operation against drug suspects last Wednesday in Barangay 69, Pasay City.

Domingo’s remains are now in his home in Tanza, Cavite.

Marie Domingo, the widow of the victim, said she feels grateful that the president took time to visit them despite his busy schedule.

Duterte promised Marie financial assistance, scholarship for her three children, as well as a job for her in government.

Duterte also gave Marie a direct line and promised that his office will always be open for her whenever she needs him.

The slain cop’s 9-year-old daughter Sophia also said she now wants to become a policeman like her father.

Southern Police District director Tomas Apolinario said they are still conducting a man-hunt operation against the five suspects, including drug personality Randy Lizardo, who allegedly killed Domingo.
