Everyone should know this by now. Assaulting a uniformed police officer — especially if done out of spite — never ends well.

An Iranian national was arrested yesterday after she was accused of assaulting a police officer in the resort town of Puerto Galera in the island of Mindoro.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer identified the Iranian as Fereshteh Najafi Marbouyeh, 31.

According to a report from DZMM, the Puerto Galera police received a report from the village of Tabinay that Marbouyeh stripped off her clothes when she became drunk. She was also uncontrollable and caused a disturbance in the village.

When the cops arrived, Marbouyeh lashed out at the police officers. According to the authorities, Police Officer 2 Ferr Henrick Mangarin tried to calm her down but she allegedly burned his hand with a cigarette and punched and kicked him.

RMN said the woman was arrested and is currently detained at the Puerto Galera Municipal Police Station. She has been charged with direct assault.

Marbouyeh’s case comes more than a week after a Chinese fashion student threw a cup of taho (soybean curd drink) at a police officer who told her that she couldn’t bring her snack inside the MRT Boni station. She was indicted for direct assault by the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office and faces deportation.
