Filipinos live for basketball. So yesterday’s FIBA Asia Cup victory against defending champion, China wasn’t just a win, it was a cause for national celebration.
The Philippine National Basketball team Gilas Pilipinas beat China, ending the game with a 96-87 score.
Like always, Filipinos celebrated the victory on Twitter, helping make search terms #China and #LabanPilipinas become trending topics.
Many were just happy to beat tournament-favorite China even without starting center Junmar Fajardo.
