Angkas, a motorcycle booking app, is mostly known for offering an alternative mode of transportation for those struggling with Manila’s traffic, but over on social media, it’s also famous for its humorous posts.

Even after the Supreme Court (SC) issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) that will effectively suspend the company’s operations once again, it looks like Angkas’ social media manager continues to work overtime to make the Twitterverse ROFL.

Just look at this shady tweet posted yesterday directed at the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTRFB) — the agency behind their suspension.

Angkas says in its tweet: “me: *offers a safe, fast, and efficient way to beat the traffic*”

They then added a Spongebob Squarepants meme of a customer barging inside the Krusty Krab.

For those who aren’t familiar with the meme, this basically means that something bad is about to happen — like the LTFRB suspending their operations.

The LTFRB suspended Angkas’ operations in November 2017, but in August this year, Mandaluyong City Judge Carlos Valenzuela issued a preliminary injunction which stopped the LTFRB and the Department of Transport (DOTr) “from interfering” with Angkas’ operations.

This was a win for Angkas and its loyal following, that is until the SC’s resolution, dated on Dec. 5, was obtained and made public by local media on Wednesday.

In light of the TRO, the DOTr said that the LTRFB will order its sheriffs to arrest Angkas drivers who are seen operating in the city’s roads, reported Rappler.

However, earlier today, Angkas Spokesperson George Royeca said in a press briefing in Quezon City that the SC decision didn’t deem Angkas as something illegal, which is why the company refuses to stop operations.

“Angkas continues its operations. The Supreme Court granted the temporary restraining order on the injunction from the Mandaluyong RTC (Regional Trial Court),” Royeca was quoted by Top Gear Philippines.

“We are filing our comments to the Supreme Court and we are hopeful they will rule in favor of the Filipino riding public.”

“So there is still no decision on Angkas being illegal or legal on the road,” Royeca said, reported by The Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The Spongebob tweet had over 18,000 likes and 3,500 retweets as of this article’s posting. Netizens were amused by the tweet:

“I love me some shade,” said @FlatDryGrass.

“I want to reach this type of meme grandmastery,” wrote @14mohoy.

“Throw shade when you can @angkas,” wrote @DiuyunCalig.

Others seemed jaded.

@FonsoQuibranza shared another Spongebob Squarepants meme of Spongebob looking sad in a gloomy restaurant with hot coffee.

“Need a hug?” asked @charMeander.

While others were just plain mad at the LTFRB.

@fuckLTFRB wrote: “@LTFRB is making it worse for everyone else while they think that they are ‘doing the right thing’. Here’s a company trying to make the lives of Filipinos better and LTFRB is stopping that.”

“They (LTFRB) think backwards. They can’t give a solution to traffic. Now, [Angkas] offers it, and they remove it,” said @dalawangsampu.

“They (LTFRB) deserve all the wrath in the world,” wrote @justlikeram. “How could they sleep at night??? Gosh, these people. ‘Im sorry but [the LTFRB] is nothing but a psychotic, crazy, wicked, blindfolded bitch!”
