After a church exorcist warned Catholics about supposed “satanic” rosaries in the country, at least 30 rosaries have been surrendered to the Catholic church in Cebu since Sept. 8.

Fr. Ric Anthony Reyes told Cebu newspaper The Freeman that the rosaries that have been turned in were given an exorcism prayer and  then burned.

“We properly disposed cursed occult paraphernalia by burning them. I recited a minor exorcism prayer which has been recommended for priests who were not appointed as official exorcist,” Reyes told the newspaper.

The chief exorcist of the Archdiocese of Novaliches told Catholics during a radio interview last August, “Listeners, be careful as the rosaries you might be using could actually be infested or curse.”

He said that some rosaries have allegedly been cursed by the Illuminati and can be seen with symbols like a snake wrapped around the cross, a pentagram, or a sun with rays emanating.

Reyes didn’t specify what symbols the rosaries turned in to the Cebu parish had but he reiterated the church’s stance that the demonic rosaries actually exist.

“There are really satanists who clandestinely do the manufacturing of these rosaries. The cross which has mocked signs of satanism is a potential item of demonic infestation,” he said.

Cebu claims to be the birthplace of Catholicism in the Philippines where Ferdinand Magellan originally brought the image of the child Jesus — locally known as the Santo Niño de Cebu — in 1521.
