A man was arrested in Quezon City early this morning for allegedly pretending to be a soldier and at the same time possessing a gun and several bottles of alcohol.
Suspect Brando Busca arrived at a checkpoint in the village of Payatas at about 3:25am onboard a white Nissan pickup when he was asked to stay for a few minutes so he could have his temperature checked, reports Radyo Inquirer.

However, the authorities learned that Busca did not have a quarantine pass, a piece of document that allows a person to leave his home while the enhanced community quarantine is in place in Metro Manila. The cops also learned that Busca was allegedly in possession of 27 bottles of liquor which he planned to bring to Montalban, Rizal, reports news TV show Unang Balita.
Busca told the cops that he was a soldier, but was allegedly unable to provide any proof that he was working as such. At the same time, he was also allegedly in possession of an 9mm pistol containing 15 bullets, but couldn’t show a license to carry the firearm, reports Abante Tonite.
He was arrested and brought to the Batasan Police Station, where he will be charged with Republic Act No. 11469 or the Bayanihan (“Camaraderie”) To Heal as One Act, as well as Quezon City’s liquor ban.
