Thank God no one got hurt.

A boatload of passengers and crew members were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) this morning after the pump boat they were riding started to sink in the seawaters of Gilutongan, Cordova in Cebu.

69 passengers, some of whom were children, and five crew members were aboard the MBCA MEME 5 boat which experienced engine trouble and had hull damage at around 7am, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.

The boat was bound for Getafe, Bohol.

ABS-CBN News reported that the boat was already half submerged when PCG rescuers arrived at the scene. The passengers and crew members were brought to pier 1 of the Cebu City Port after the ordeal.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident, Brigada News reported.
