Not only did this taxi driver have to deal with the metro’s intense traffic, but he also had to deal with a robber in his own car.

A 61-year-old taxi driver was injured after his passenger robbed him while on the way to Marikina City last night.

According to Radyo Inquirer, the unnamed driver picked up the male suspect who posed as a passenger in Cubao, Quezon City at around 10pm. The suspect’s supposed destination was in Marikina City.

When they reached Chestnut Street in Barangay (village) San Roque, the suspect threatened the victim with a knife, ABS-CBN News reported.

The same report stated that the driver’s hand was lacerated by the suspect’s knife when the former tried to protect himself.

Luckily, the driver happened to pass by a police checkpoint and was able to tell the cops that he was being robbed, Radyo Inquirer added. The suspect was apprehended by police officers at the checkpoint.

The authorities confiscated a knife and three sachets of suspected shabu (meth). The suspect will face charges of robbery, physical injuries, and possession of dangerous drugs, ABS-CBN News stated.
