5 hurt in grenade explosion in North Cotabato

Five people were wounded in a grenade explosion in Carmen town, North Cotabato on Friday.

Municipal Police Chief Insp. Julius Malcontento identified the wounded as David Orteza, Armando Aquino, Joel Arayon, Henry Nobleza and Darwin Ortiz, who were with barangay chairman Renato Ortiz during the incident.

Police said an unidentified person riding a motorcycle threw a grenade at the hut where the victims were having dinner.

The victims suffered minor wounds and are now in stable condition. Ortiz was not hurt.

Police said land dispute was a possible motive for the attack.
