Authorities recovered 37 blocks of suspected cocaine on the shoreline of the Municipality of Cagdianao in the Dinagat Islands earlier today.

A report from the Police Regional Office (PRO-13) said that a fisherman saw the blocks drifting ashore Tuesday afternoon in Sitio Habongan in Barangay (Village) Poblacion, Cagdianao, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.

The report added that the fisherman immediately told the Cagdianao Municipal Police Station, ABS-CBN News reported. However, the Caraga Regional Police Office was only informed about the incident earlier today at 3am, GMA News said.

The blocks were brought to the Butuan City police crime laboratory for examination.

On Sunday, two fishermen spotted a box of cocaine in the waters of  Vinzons town in Camarines Norte, Bicol region. Authorities found that the box contained about 1 kilo of cocaine worth around PHP5 million (US$96,214.12).
