Thirty-two people were injured when an airconditioned bus, a kuliglig (farm tractor), and an SUV figured in a crash in Sta. Maria town, Isabela province yesterday.

The incident happened last night at 8:30pm, radio station RMN reported.

According to Isabela police spokesperson Police Capt. Frances Littaua, the crash was caused by an overspeeding Toyota Fortuner SUV driven by a Jerome Wangdali, 47, that rammed the back of a farm tractor driven by a Bilyo Danga in the village of Naganacan, The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.

The initial crash caused the SUV to overturn to the opposite lane and crash into an approaching Florida liner bus driven by 38-year-old Eupiniano Pira, Bombo Radyo reported. The bus turned upside down due to the impact.

All drivers, as well as the 29 bus passengers, were hurt in the incident, Inquirer said.

The bus was en route to Manila from Sta. Ana, Cagayan province.

The victims were rescued by Sta. Maria police and brought to the Elvin Masigan Municipal Hospital. Those seriously hurt were later on transferred to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center in Tuguegarao City.
