Two people, a mother and her child, were arrested for allegedly hacking into a 17-year-old’s Facebook account, local media reported today.

Maricar Sena and her son Jingky Joy Sena were arrested for receiving PHP10,000 (US$207) from the victim. Jingky allegedly hacked into the victim’s Facebook on April 8 and threatened the victim that he would spread her lewd videos unless the teen coughs up the said amount.

“Our subject, this hacker, sent samples of these sensitive videos to the complainant’s acquaintances, and relatives,” Cesar Bacani, the National Bureau of Investigation’s regional director for Metro Manila, told GMA News.

Maricar, who was arrested while getting the money from a remittance center, said she had no idea that her son was involved in nefarious activity. Jingky said he regretted doing what he did.

“I didn’t like what happened. It wasn’t my intention; I didn’t plan this,” he said.
