Well, artists got bills to pay too, right?

American musician Passion Pit claimed he’s not yet been paid for his performance at the GoodVybes Fest, which happened a year ago.

Passion Pit whose real name is Michael Angelakos asked for help on a Tweet tagging Manila Concerts and GoodVybes Fest. Angelakos emphasized, however, that he loved the Manila crowd.

The organizers of the event quickly responded to the Tweet. They clarified that that the talent fees and airfare were paid directly to the his handlers.

“It’s unfair of Michael to make sweeping statements like that, especially because he didn’t make it clear if he was referring to his agency or GoodVybes. We have paid his agency,”  said Nico Bacani, the president of Vybe Productions in a report by Bandwagon Asia.

Passion Pit elaborated his statement in a series of follow-up tweets.

“See, I’ve got this thing: to fly around the world to play one show, it’s a big deal! Kinda messes with my brain a bit, my doctors advise against [it]. But when you have a bunch of fans someplace and there’s money there so you can afford it, you make it work. Cool, so we do that. Then a bunch of things happen, which I won’t go into, but I’ll say that, you know, festivals can be dangerous. You have to know your shit.” he posted on Twitter.

“People who made the ‘statement’ can explain themselves to my team. I don’t need to make a statement defending myself. I already have. For their sake, I will not go and explain the whole situation. I was being vague for a good reason—almost being too kind, actually.”

Passion Pit made it clear that he is willing to come back to Manila to play again. He is best known for hits like “Sleepyhead” and “Seaweed Song.”
