Looking for children’s books that help break down what is at stake for their future in the coming elections? Then you may want to check out the offerings at Adarna House, known for publishing award-winning children’s titles.

“Our children may not be eligible to vote yet, but their voices definitely matter. Truth, democracy, freedom—these seem like big adult topics but can actually be easily understood by kids when grounded in their own experiences or told as stories,” Adarna House wrote on social media.

Some of the titles include Ito ang Diktadura (This is Dictatorship) by Equipo Plantel, Isang Harding Papel (A Paper Garden) and Si Jhun Jhun, Noong Bago Ideklara ang Batas Militar (Jhun Jhun, Before Martial Law) by Augie Rivera, The Magic Arrow by Bonet Banal, and Edsa by Russell Molina.

All books are published in English and in Filipino.

Those interested in purchasing may get 10 percent off on titles at the BDAP Aklatan online book fair this month.

Founded in 1980 by author and former National Commission for Culture and the Arts chairman Virgilio Almario, Adarna House has striven to foster learning opportunities for children and create a rich body of literature for Filipino youth. The publishing house has since released numerous titles that have won numerous awards here and abroad, including the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature, Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards, International Board on Books for Young People, and the National Children’s Book Awards among others.
