We all know Maine Mendoza as “Yaya Dub,” the fifth most tweeted celebrity in the world, and a mental health advocate, but here’s another thing that will make you think she’s awesome.
Last Wednesday, Janica Nam Floresca, the girlfriend of late Hashtag member Franco Hernandez, shared on her Instagram Story that Mendoza sent her a message of support earlier in December.
“Hi Janica! I might not know you (and Franco) personally but I really want to send you a message just to say that you are both lucky to have each other. Just by looking at your IG feed, I fall in love with photos and videos of you together. Such a beautiful couple! I know he’s always around to look after you! Stay strong!” Mendoza said in Filipino and English in an Instagram direct message.

So while everyone wondered why Mendoza hasn’t been posting on social media in the past few weeks, it looks like she just preferred to keep some things private.
Both Mendoza and Hernandez were part of local show business but never got a chance to meet and worked for different television networks. Hernandez was part of the ABS-CBN noontime show It’s Showtime! while Mendoza is a host for its rival program on GMA’s Eat Bulaga.
Hernandez drowned and died in Davao Occidental on Nov. 11 after a motorboat he and Floresca were riding crashed into a wave.
