She’s back!

After a nearly month-long absence from the noontime show Eat Bulaga, Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza is back on screen.

She appeared alongside her co-hosts in the show’s New Year special yesterday.

After taking a break from social media, Mendoza also shared her reunion with co-hosts Paolo Ballesteros, Jose Manalo, and Wally Bayola on Twitter.

“I’m just so lucky that I get to be with them every day,” part of her tweet reads in Filipino. “I missed you so so much!”

In December 2017, talent manager Rams David told Inquirer’s Bandera that Mendoza will be back from her vacation by Dec. 31 and will be on the show by Jan. 1. She was in the United States with her family and was surprisingly silent on social media for about a month.

Fans were worried that Mendoza had been suspended from Eat Bulaga because her vacation came just days after she posted an open letter to her rabid fanbase in late November 2017, asking them to give her “freedom” and revealing that she and her love team partner Alden Richards are not together in real life.

Veteran comedian and long-time Eat Bulaga host Vic Sotto was quick to assure that Mendoza was not suspended and said in early December 2017 that she was just on vacation. This was confirmed when Mendoza shared photos with her family in Universal Orlando in her Instagram Story later that month.

Mendoza first became popular through viral videos on the lip sync social media platform Dubsmash. She then became a regular host on Eat Bulaga in 2015 as part of the Kalyeserye (street series) segment with Richards. In the Philippines, fans are made to believe that on-screen partners are together in real life, which is why Mendoza’s open letter came as a surprise.

Last year, Twitter named her the fifth most tweeted celebrity in the world, just below Justin Bieber and above former One Direction members Niall Horan and Harry Styles.
