Travel warnings didn’t scare Korean pop star Lee Jong-hyun from taking his vacation in Bohol, where two clashes between government forces and suspected Abu Sayyaf rebels has left 10 people dead on the normally peaceful tourist island.

The Korean musician and member of pop rock band CNBlue posted photos of his Bohol vacation on Monday, April 24.

The South Korean Foreign Ministry issued the advisory telling its citizens not to travel between April 13 and April 23. South Korea extended the advisory amid news of the armed clash in Clarin town that happened last Saturday, April 22.

Jong-hyun posted photos of his visits to popular tourist spots on the island including Chocolate Hills, the Loboc River and the Tarsier Sanctuary.

Jong-hyun, who is set to star in the upcoming TV drama “My Only Love Song,” has a following of about 1.5 million on Instagram. His posts gathered thousands of likes and comments from Korean and Filipino fans alike.

According to a report in local newspaper SunStar Cebu, the Department of Tourism reported that 44 percent — the majority — of the 5 million tourist arrivals in the central Philippines last year came from South Korea.

CNBlue is set to embark on an Asian tour this July, the Korea Herald reports. The tour includes a show in Manila set for July 8.
