Rocky Gathercole was an abused child who grew up to become a world-renowned fashion designer to the stars.

And now, he is giving back.

Gathercole is set to headline a fashion show for the fundraising anniversary dinner of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation’s Bantay Bata 163, the Philippines’ go-to hotline for child abuse.

The designer, who has worked with celebrities like Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Beyonce, will showcase his pieces at the event set on August 12 at the Philippine International Convention Center.

Gathercole’s life story was featured recently in the ABS-CBN drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” with actor Arjo Atayde portraying his character.

Abused by his father and abandoned by his mother, Gathercole lived in the streets of Lawton until he found a job as a waiter. He went to the Middle East and worked as an apprentice in a dress shop.

He eventually made it to the United States, where he worked with top designers and created gowns for celebrities.
