The highly-anticipated film Crazy Rich Asians, featuring an all-Asian cast, will be released in August 2018, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The comedy  delves into the secret lives of Asia’s elite, specifically in Singapore, from the perspective of an American-born Chinese economics professor.

The film stars Constance Wu, who made her TV breakout on the ABC TV series Fresh Off the Boat.

There are at least two Filipinos confirmed part of the cast so far: Kris Aquino, a veteran actress, TV host, and daughter of late President Corazon Aquino, and Filipino-American actor Nico Santos of the NBC series Superstore, although it’s not yet clear what roles they will play in the film.

Other actors confirmed as part of the cast include Michelle Yeoh, Henry Golding, Ken Jeong, Harry Shum Jr., Awkwafina, Jimmy O. Yang and Gemma Chan.

The film is based on the 2013 best-selling novel by Singaporean author Kevin Kwan.
