Prank calls still happen in 2020, but that doesn’t mean you should curse at anyone whom you think is punking you on the phone.
Noontime show host Willie Revillame went viral yesterday when a contestant on the phone cursed at him for no reason.
The crazy incident happened in his variety show Wowowin, famous for giving tons of moolah to the country’s poor. In a segment sponsored by e-commerce site Shopee, Revillame had to call a female contestant and ask her to utter the magic words, “Thank you, Shopee” (“Salamat, Shopee” in Filipino.”)
Revillame started the call by saying, “Hello? Hello?”
When the contestant on the other end of the line said “Hello” back, Revillame said, “Just say, ‘Thank you, Shopee!'”
Instead of following Revillame’s instruction, however, the contestant answered back, “A**hole! A**hole!” (or as she said in Filipino, “Gago!“)
Revillame laughed loud, regained his composure, and told the woman, “Don’t curse at me! This is Willie Revillame!”

Netizens thought the episode was top class entertainment, with Twitter user @rouge__99 writing, “Thank you shopee gone wrong.”
