Are you all caught up with the Money Heist buzz sweeping the country? Or to call it by its original title, La Casa de Papel (“The House of Paper”).
The popular Spanish heist crime drama’s head writer and executive producer, Javier Gomez Santander, will be delivering a free online talk about the show via Zoom on April 28 at 7pm (Manila time), Instituto Cervantes announced today.
The Embassy of Spain in the Philippines and Instituto Cervantes de Manila is moderating the lecture entitled, “A Couple of Secrets the Professor Taught Me to Make a hit TV Show,” which will be delivered entirely in Spanish, but questions will be entertained in English.
The Manila leg will be the first in a series of talks spanning seven cities, including Tokyo, Nairobi, and Berlin (coincidentally, the names or aliases of the characters in the show).

Season 4 of the cult show saw the introduction of a new character called Manila, which according to actress Belen Cuesta, is a tribute to the show’s loyal Filipino fanbase.
Money Heist is consistently among the most viewed shows in Netflix Philippines. It first debuted on the streaming site in May 2017 and has since been renewed for three more seasons. The story is set in Madrid and features a character called The Professor who recruits a group of people in an ambitious plan to rob a coinage factory called the Royal Mint of Spain. Succeeding heists, new gang members, some hits and snafus, and thrilling drama abound in the seasons that follow.
