Japanese fast-food giant MOS Burger to open in Manila

MOS Burger (fun fact: That’s Mountain, Ocean, Sun), the Japanese fast-food outlet known for putting fresh and uniquely Asian spins on burgers, is opening a pop-up branch in Quezon City’s Robinsons Galleria in January.

In its announcement this week the Japanese burger joint said its first Philippine store will offer two fan favorites during a limited two-day run.

Try the Yakiniku Rice Burger, which sandwiches thin slices of beef between grilled rice patties; and the signature MOS Burger, which is composed of regular bread buns, a burger patty, veggies, and signature sauce.

The dates are TBA; check back here for an update.

Following the two-day pop-up, more branches are expected to crop up around Quezon City’s Ortigas business district, and in Metro Manila in the first quarter.

MOS Burger opened in Tokyo in the 1970s and expanded to Taiwan in the ’90s before spreading around Asia and the rest of the world. At present, it has at least 1,700 branches worldwide. The Asian burger joint is known for its rice patty buns, tender slices of meat fillings, and signature sauces.
