Hong Kong beverage and dessert chain Hui Lau Shan has debuted in the Philippines, and to mark its grand launch, the company is offering free food and drink — for as long as one year — to the first customers at their doorsteps on opening day.
The dessert chain announced this promo yesterday on its new Philippines Facebook account.
Customers hoping to claim some prizes will just need to visit the store at SM Megamall on its opening day, on March 23.
The first 10 people in the queue will get the following freebies: the first customer will get a one year’s supply of Hui Lau Shan’s products; the second will win a six months’ supply; the third to fifth customers in line will get three months; and the sixth to the tenth will get one month’s worth of complimentary orders.
Hui Lau Shan didn’t say which of its menu items will be eligible for the promo, but hey, free desserts are free desserts.
Beyond those prizes, the first 200 customers in the queue that day can also buy the store’s best sellers at only PHP50 (less than US$1) each.
Hui Lau Shan was founded in Hong Kong in the 1960s. The opening of its Philippine store is a homecoming of sorts for the brand because it’s known for using carabao mangoes, which are sourced from the country.
This is the main ingredient of many of its bestselling items, like the Handmade Mango series of desserts which combine Philippine mangoes with chewy tapioca balls and crystal jelly.
In Hong Kong, they’re also known for their Fresh Fruit Desserts, which features fruit juice that’s complemented by cuts of fresh fruit. They also sell drinks called Mango-Mania, Mango & Coconut, Double Mango, and Fresh Fruits.
