Sadly, the most delicious three days in the Philippines just came to an end.
Madrid Fusion Manila 2017 (April 6-8) is the biggest culinary event in Asia and some of the most celebrated chefs from around the globe flew in to the capital to share their cuisine, advocacy, and techniques to the hungry (for food and knowledge) audience.
Aside from the talks from world famous chefs and our very own culinarians like chefs Tatung Sarthou, Josh Boutwood, Jordy Navarra, Robby Goco, and Gene Gonzalez, the daily regional lunches are undoubtedly the highlight of the 3-day food congress. The regional lunches features dishes and delicacies from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao plus creations by featured chefs/restaurants revolving around a certain theme. Day 1 was all rice, day 2 was nose-to-tail (something Pinoys really love), and the last day was all about corn and seafood.
Eating and trying everything was a feat for the strong ones — tireless feet and bottomless tummies (not to mention you have to carry that heavy media kit around). We came, we saw, and we conquered. Here are just some of the best things we ate at Madrid Fusion Manila 2017 (in no particular order).
