Three reported dead, 29 injured in Kuching mall explosion

Afternoon shoppers, workers and anyone in the near vicinity of City One Megamall in Kuching received a shock when a blast shook the complex at approximately 3:30pm today.

Three people have reported to have died, with another 29 reported injured, with initial reports pointing towards a gas leak causing the blast.

Dozens of videos have since appeared on social media, showing the ground floor of the shopping complex covered in debris, while shouts are heard in the background.

Reports have said that most of the injured are believed to be mall employees and workers who had been renovating a food outlet in the building. According to an eyewitness, they heard a large explosion, and the entire building began to shake.
