Teacher drinking poison case: School’s headmistress transferred

A headmistress of a primary school in Klang has reportedly been transferred to the Selangor Education Department after one of her teachers allegedly attempted suicide last week.

According to The New Straits Times, the 36-year-old teacher claimed that the headmistress had put her under immense pressure, until the point where she could no longer take the stress and allegedly decided to take her own life.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan told the daily that investigations are underway and the ministry is currently waiting for the authorities to wrap up the probe.

“The headmistress has been placed at the state education department for the time being,” Kamalanathan was quoted by the daily as saying.

He added that the teacher has reportedly been discharged from the hospital.

Last Friday, the teacher was found unconscious by her husband at their home after she allegedly took pills and drank poison due to criticisms about her work performance.
