Ahead of what is anticipated to be even more charges than the 17 she is already facing, former Prime Minister Najib Razak’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, appeared at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters earlier today to give investigators her statement.
Media had been waiting since 8am, and only mananged to catch a glimpse of the Proton Perdana that dropped her off at 11am, shortly after her lawyer, K. Kumaraendran arrived.

Speculation is currently rife as to whether Rosmah will be allowed to go home after her statement is recorded, or whether she will be held overnight in custody leading up to her date tomorrow at the Jalan Duta Courts Complex.
Both Rosmah, along with her former aide Rizal Mansor, are expected to be slapped with six charges pertaining to alleged kickbacks received off of a RM1.25 billion (US$300 million) solar energy project for rural schools in Sarawak, Borneo.
Sarawak Report investigators alleged in June that the contract was awarded to the company involved, Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd in late 2016, under direct orders from the former prime minister, Najib Razak. Jepak was tasked with supplying diesel, repairing generators, and providing the hybrid-solar systems that were to power 369 schools throughout the state.
Rosmah’s aide, Rizal, has already been arrested by the anti-graft agency over claims that he solicited money from Jepak relating to the project, with the company’s director, managing director, and one of their lawyers being taken in as well.
Early last month, Rosmah was charged by the MACC over 17 counts of money laundering, and had to post RM2 million (US$500,000) bail to be released from custody.
