Malaysian police have identified a woman who caused a scene at the Suria KLCC mall when she was refused entry to a luxury retailer because she wasn’t wearing a mask.
Dang Wangi police spokesperson Noor Dellhan Yahaya told reporters today that the authorities have begun investigating the woman – whose name was not disclosed – for breaching the mask mandate in public spaces.
“Yes I can confirm that the woman in question has been identified,” Noor said.
She is being investigated for violating two sections of public health regulations, he added, for which she faces up to a RM10,000 (US$2,400) and six months in jail.
The woman was spotted Wednesday arguing with Dior staff and accusing them of pushing her when she tried to enter the store. White residents who watched the video have also apologized for her abhorrent behaviour and assured others that not all Caucasians are overly entitled Karens.
