Man becomes gigolo to win back girlfriend, gets scammed instead

If you thought you were having a bad day, let us introduce you to this man.

A 37-year-old handyman from Kuantan, who wanted to become a gigolo to win his girlfriend back, got cheated of RM2,500 instead.

According to The Star Online, the man, known only as Choo, said he had a quarrel with his girlfriend and in an attempt to win her heart back, he needed fast money.

And nothing pays more than being a gigolo, right?

So, Choo reportedly got in touch with a ‘male escort agent’ introduced by his friends.

“This agent named Kent told me I could earn up to RM3,000 for three hours’ work,” Choo was quoted as saying in a press conference at Teruntum assemblyman Sim Chon Siang’s office on Friday.

However, there was a catch: Choo was told to deposit a RM1,000 processing fee and a RM1,500 finder’s fee into the agent’s bank account before he could start working his magic on the ladies.

After he deposited the amount, he was then told that his first client would be a 35-year-old bank manager.

When he reportedly showed up at the hotel at 2.45am on July 3, nobody was there.

“I tried to contact Kent but he had blocked me. I then realised I had been cheated. I just want Kent to return my money,” he was further quoted as saying.

He added that he regretted his action as his girlfriend has been ignoring his calls when she found out about the whole incident.

In the same press conference, Sim told the news portal that initial investigations revealed that Kent’s bank accounts were registered as a clothing and accessories shop in Kuala Lumpur.

“This may be a syndicate that has cheated many men,” he told The Star.
