Jho Knows: Psy says they were friends, while police say he’s hopefully coming home ‘soon’

Galloping Korean quiff, Psy (of Gangnam Style-fame) has weighed into this week’s news connecting him with on-the-run financier, Jho Low, and admitted that at one point in time, he was indeed on the fugitive’s payroll friends list.

South Korean media implicated Low in the country’s largest sex scandal, claiming that he had met with the disgraced head of YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun-suk, and later went to a club where sexual favors were on offer with another businessman.

If you’re wondering how big YG is, we’ll point out know that it’s considered one of the “Big Three” entertainment companies in Korea, with acts like BigBang and Coachella darlings, Blackpink on their roster.

Low, a wanted man in connection with what investigators say was his mastermind role in the 1MDB financial scandal, contacted Coconuts KL via his lawyers this week, explaining that he had only met Yang through Psy, and denied all of the allegations that were thrown his way pertaining to solicitation.

Taking to his Instagram account to clear the air (where else?!), Psy wrote:

“Regardless of whether he was a good friend or not, it is clear that I was his friend,” Psy wrote on his Instagram account on Wednesday (May 29).

“When Jho Low and his friends visited Korea, Yang and I were invited to a dinner with them. We had the meal and drinks with other guests, and Yang and I left the table early.”

“At the time, I just thought it was a dinner gathering with a friend from afar. I apologize for causing concern.”

When Psy met him, Low was in the midst of a heady Hollywood love affair, bankrolling Scorsese blockbusters, celebrating the New Year with Jamie Foxx, and cozying up to human-who-should-know-better, Alicia Keys.

Psy clarified that it was him who introduced Low to Yang.

Alrighty, then!

While you guys sort out who met who first, Malaysia’s Inspector-General of Police made a media statement yesterday, saying that authorities “are sure of bringing him back soon.”

“When I say we are sure of bringing him back soon, it means soon,” he told reporters at a press conference regarding another matter. He did not provide further details.

Alrighty, then! Party still on if you do come home, Jho. Playlist is ready, and Cristal is on ice. Hit us up.
