A family of four has been sentenced to 335 years in prison after being found guilty of incest. The accused, a 57-year-old farmer and his three sons, were found guilty of raping the farmer’s two granddaughters.
The three sons were the victims’ father and two uncles.
In addition to jail time, each have been sentenced to 24 strokes of the rotan.
New Straits Times reports that the rapes began in January 2011 at a house in Tebedu, near Serian, and had been occurring with different members of the guilty parties since last month.
The two sisters are now aged nineteen and fourteen. The nineteen-year-old victim is 25 weeks pregnant, though there has been no mention as to whether the pregnancy was a result of the rapes.
The sentences issued were the maximum possible, and each will run concurrently from the date of their arrest.
