Malaysiakini reports that Malaysian Information Chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa, has said that Umno, the Malay nationalist party of the ruling government, loves the country’s ethnic Chinese population “the most.” Thanks?

He is alleged to have made the proclamation at an awards ceremony for an essay writing contest in Shah Alam.

His statement is seen as a dig at DAP leader Lim Kit Siang, and he went on to say “The one that will ruin the Chinese in Malaysia is DAP.” Not one to beat around the bush, this Tan Sri Musa

“The people who love the Chinese the most are Umno Malays,” he said, although like many of the ephemeral mysteries in life, love has no measure.

“Chinese names, Chinese culture, Chinese school, all are given their blessings. Who gives the blessings? Umno does.” No word on his feelings on Chinese food, but we’re sure he’d bless a plate of baby khailan any day.

He rightly pointed out that as a Muslim party, it’s members are taught the Islamic principles of acceptance. While this is true for many, theory and practice are a funny thing for a loud minority of members.

Tan Sri Musa went on to say that while the ethnic Chinese still “dominate the economy,” if DAP were to take power there would be chaos.

“When the country is in chaos, the Chinese will be the first to suffer.” Love and Chaos, a new Netflix series coming this fall.

While no one can deny his heart was in the right place – saying that Umno “must change public perception that it is racist,” and “that party members can do this by not saying things to hurt the feelings of non-Malays and not belittle the other BN coalition members like the Chinese MCA and Indian MIC” isn’t a bad thing – everyone knows change starts at home.

Why say that you love Chinese THE MOST, how about you just love us ALL?
