Doctor charged for allegedly causing the death of DPM’s son-in-law

A doctor claimed trial in a Sessions Court on Friday for allegedly causing the death of Syed Alman, the son-in-law of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

According to The Star Online, Dr Ting Teck Chin pleaded not guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder under Section 304(b) of the Penal Code.

The 36-year-old obstetrician/gynaecologist faces a ten-year jail term and a fine, or both, if found guilty.

The bail has been set at RM20,000 with one surety by sessions judge Zainal L Saleh.

On June 1, Syed reportedly visited the dental clinic located at Bangsar at 6pm for treatment before he was reported to have fallen unconscious

He was then reportedly rushed to the University Malaya Medical Centre where he was confirmed dead.
