Body of boy who drowned in Ampang drain found in Klang

The body of a boy who reportedly drowned in a drain in Ampang was found in Sungai Pinang in Klang on Saturday.

The New Straits Times reports that members of the public found the body of Mohd Akmal Hamdan, 10, floating in the river at 8am.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Mohd Sani Harul told the daily that several search and resuce teams had been searching for the victim’s body in a 10-kilometer range from where he fell but the search did not turn up anything.

Last Friday, Mohd Akmal was reportedly playing with his friends when he fell into the drain at Sekolah Agama Tasik Tambahan and was swept away by the water.
