Best bromance to come out of GE14: Nazir and Fernandes road-tripping across Malaysia

Air Asia Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes and CIMB chairman Dato’ Seri Nazir Razak, are living the plot of a quirky Hollywood comedy right now, and road-tripping across the country in the lead-up to Malaysia’s upcoming 14th General Election.

Malaysia’s two favorite consummate gentlemen are seeing the sites, meeting the citizens, and finding out what issues matter most to those that they meet along the way.

If you’re anything like us, you are praying to the heavens above that this is part of some kind of Amazing Race for humanity, and there are several Go Pros in their car.

Yesterday, the dynamic duo covered the state of Selangor, with Tony posting photos of their trip to Facebook and saying that not only was everyone who they met along the way incredibly nice, these two ridiculously wealthy men also didn’t need to pay for anything.

Well, rich or poor – everyone loves a bargain. (If you’d like that for a new Air Asia slogan, please speak with our management, tk).

Fernandes outlined their trip, and recorded a few of their interactions. They also made it to one of the state’s scenic beaches, and managed to capture this epic photo for our collective delight:

Yes, that’s right. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, friend of Richard Branson, man of the people and tarmac, is rocking a Balenciaga cap, along with a Supreme tee, and what look like BAPE camo cargo shorts.

Taking fashion cues from the last fuccboi to never call us back, we’re left wondering if his recent marriage to a much younger Korean woman is giving his wardrobe a new lease on life.

Nazir on the other hand, keeps it real, wearing light colored linens, and a Polo cap that wouldn’t be out of place grabbing breakfast at Huckleberry in Damansara Heights, while you catch up on the news via your iPad. Extra points on the shades: Are those Persols?

The bromance between these two is real, and to be honest, we’re loving it. Tan Sri Fernandes represents what hard work and ingenuity can achieve, while Nazir, brother of the Prime Minister Najib Razak, is ever the gracious gentleman, ready to be the voice of clarity and moderation, when others seek to be divisively sensational.

Please, you two either run for office, or make a movie together.
