The woman who had been spreading rumors about celebrity Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor being the victim of a love spell cast by her fiance has been referred to lawyers for possible legal action.

The hijab idol’s personal assistant Nadiah Khairuddin revealed this to the press yesterday, adding that she does not know the alleged gossip monger, identified as Syamira Safiya, personally. Syamira had on Boxing Day shared screenshots of WhatsApp exchanges saying that Neelofa had been under a love spell and had already tied the knot with Harris Ismail in Kelantan, as well as, gave cash worth RM100,000 (US$25,000) to his family – allegations Syamira claimed had come from Nadiah.

Neelofa was engaged to Harris, better known as PU Riz, earlier last month and the couple are due to wed in March.

“I’ve referred her to our lawyers,” Nadiah told reporters yesterday. “I don’t know her personally, and we have never met, but I want to clear my name from any conflict with Neelofa, as she is my boss.”

Nadiah was able to find Syamira after posting an online appeal Monday. Syamira’s social media accounts have gone dark.

Neelofa, 31, who runs hijab brand Naelofar and various other businesses took to Instagram Monday to slam the rumors, calling them “baseless” and “nonsense.”

“The allegations of me being under a love spell, transferring money to Riz, and getting married in Kelantan is untrue, baseless nonsense,” she said. Harris has not addressed the matter publicly.
