The HotFM radio station has fired Mohammad Shukri Bin Mohamed Shahar, aka DJ Shuk, and replaced him with actor-host Mark Adam.
The station announced today that their contract with the 34-year-old, who was accused by his wife of being unfaithful, has officially ended after violating unspecified terms in the agreement. Mark, who is a Filipino based in Malaysia, takes over Shukri this week.
“Shuk’s contract as an announcer with HotFM ends today,” a statement by spokesperson Anida Mohd Tahrim said, adding: “Our investigations found that Shuk has violated the terms and conditions of the contract he signed when he became our radio announcer.”
Shukri has publicly acknowledged his termination from the station after four years of hosting the Hot Morning Gang morning show with DJ Fizie.
“I’m OK and I accept my employer’s decision,” he told reporters.
Shukri’s termination came days after he begged forgiveness from his wife, Rossalennah Natassyiah Asshaferah, 29, by pretending to ask for her hand in marriage on Instagram live.
Shukri never admitted to committing adultery but wrote online that he had made a mistake.
While he managed to win the love of his wife back, he can’t say the same about his place at HotFM, which suspended him on Jan. 24.
