The Malaysian radio DJ who was exposed for allegedly having an extramarital affair surprised his wife yesterday by pretending to propose to her again as he asked for forgiveness.
HotFM DJ Shuk, whose real name is Mohammad Shukri Bin Mohamed Shahar, 34, caught his wife Rossalennah Natassyiah Asshaferah, 29, off guard while she was filming herself endorsing local beauty products on Instagram. He had appeared in the background of the video dressed in traditional clothing and surrounded by an entourage carrying trays of gifts – a customary practice in Malay culture when a man seeks a woman’s hand in marriage.
“I’m sorry for what I did,” he was heard saying while fiddling with his collar. “Do you forgive me? Really?”
Fans were generally skeptical about Shukri’s public display of affection and questioned his sincerity. Whether it was fake or not, the stunt won over his wife, who nodded and hugged her husband. Shukri then went on to unbox his gifts, which included beauty products and a Coach bag.
“Please don’t be so fake Shuk,” Instagrammer @misfarrahani said, while another chimed in: “Is it sincere? Only Shuk knows.”
While unboxing his gifts, Shuk said to his wife: “Here are my gifts to you, even though I have been suspended from work.”
“Do you like it? Of course, you do,” he added.
Rossalennah last month outed her husband’s alleged affair on Instagram and posted text messages she said were by the mistress “Fara.” She also shared a video showing her husband’s pair of shoes outside the woman’s apartment.
All of the posts have been deleted and replaced with happy photos of the family. Shuk never confirmed the allegations but had acknowledged online that he made a “mistake.”
HotFM has suspended Shukri indefinitely ever since word of the alleged affair came to light. He hosted the Hot Morning Gang show with two others.
