A former guitarist of a local rock band was killed in a road accident on Monday, according to a report by Kosmo! translated by The Star Online.
During the 10.55am incident, Hairy Fitri Ahmad, who played the guitar for rock band Kristal, was reportedly travelling on his motorcycle when he lost control and hit a car which was coming from the opposite direction.
Jelebu OCPD Deputy Superintendent Othman Basri told Malay daily that Hairy was part of a convoy with six other friends heading towards Jelebu in Negri Sembilan for breakfast.
“Early investigations showed that Hairyfitri’s motorcycle hit the car which was coming from Kuala Klawang, which was from the opposite direction. The motorcyle then skidded as it came around a bend and the victim was thrown off,” Supt Othman was quoted as saying.
The 33-year-old Hairy was immediately rushed to hospital but he reportedly died while receiving treatment at Hospital Ampang in Kuala Lumpur.
Meanwhile, the driver of the car, a 26-year-old tuition teacher in Cheras, escaped unhurt.
