Disney to launch ‘Hotstar’ streaming service in Malaysia in June

Disney’s bringing its streaming service to Malaysia in June, via the country’s biggest paid broadcaster Astro. 

From June 1, get ready to catch shows by Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, as well as National Geographic on Disney+ Hotstar. It will also host local shows by the Media Prima company like Ejen Ali The Movie and TV3 drama series like Kekasih Hati Mr. Bodyguard (Mr. Bodyguard’s Lover). 

The platform will have more than 800 films and 18,000 episodes of various TV series including The Mandalorian and WandaVision. Popular local movies by renowned film director Yasmin Ahmad such as Talentime and Mukhsin have also made the cut.

The Disney Plus Hotstar service will cost RM 54.90 (US$13) for a renewable three-month subscription plan.
