After decades of appearing on the silver screen, Malaysian actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh could soon be taking her talents to the small screen.

Hollywood entertainment website Coming Soon reported that the 54-year-old actress is set to headline the new ‘Star Trek: Discovery’.

Producer Nicholas Meyer, who directed the ‘Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan’ and ‘Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country’ movies, reportedly confirmed that Yeoh is the first star to join the TV series, which will be aired on CBS’ subscription-based streaming service All Access.

“I know Michelle Yeoh is in it,” Meyer was quoted by the website as saying.

However, the former Bond Girl’s role in the TV series is currently still unknown, but it could potentially be the series’ female lead, a Liutenant Commander, Coming Soon reported.

Yeoh, who famously appeared in the 1997 James Bond flick ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ and the critically acclaimed ‘Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon’, recently played Lotus in the Netflix drama ‘Marco Polo’.
