Coffee chain Starbucks couldn’t resist jumping on the creamy cake trend and recently added a burnt coffee cheesecake to it’s menu. According to Starbucks, its cheesecake is baked at a higher than normal temperature to give it a beautifully burnt exterior with a hint of coffee inside.

Wondermilk
Primarily known for their adorable fantasy-themed cupcakes, local cake specialists Wondermilk revamped their menu last year and added the burnt cheesecake. Packed with creamy cheese center and dark, caramelized edges, the burnt cheesecake soon became the cafe’s bestseller.

The bakery’s burnt cheesecake, which also has a slight dent at the center, is made with Danish cream cheese and topped with burnt sugar crust.

The modified take on burnt cheesecake is made with a mixture of cream cheese, coffee, and vanilla, with whipped coffee cream.
