A woman was injured on Wednesday after the lighting fixture of a cosmetic counter in the Times Square shopping center dropped and hit her.

In a video provided to Oriental Daily by a reader, the woman can be seen looking at some cosmetic products and speaking to the salesperson at the booth before the lighting fixture falls.

She appears to not be too severely injured by the impact as she quickly gets up while holding the top of her head.

The incident happened around 6pm at the cosmetic counter of the Facesss store in the shopping mall located in Causeway Bay.

The paper noted that the customer was from mainland China.

It added that paramedics arrived at the scene moments later. She was conscious when she was sent to hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

The incident led to renewed concerns about safety standards in Hong Kong after a series of high-profile accidents involving structures falling in recent months.

In July, two dancers were injured during boy band Mirror’s concert after a huge video screen fell on the middle of the stage in the Hong Kong Coliseum.

Earlier this month, the collapse of a tower crane at a construction site along Anderson Road in Sau Mau Ping killed three workers and injured six others.
