Three middle-aged expats were arrested on Saturday after they were found to be cultivating an illegal herb garden in Discovery Bay.
Acting on a tip, police raided an apartment in DB at around 8:30am on Saturday and seized three mobile cannabis farms, five mature marijuana plants, and 34 suspected marijuana seedlings worth HKD750,000, HK01 reports.
In addition, officers found suspected drug paraphernalia, pot farming equipment, a cannabis cultivation guide, a taser, and a knife.
The two people at the apartment – a 43-year-old British woman and a 48-year-old German man – were arrested on suspicion of planting cannabis, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearms, and possession of offensive weapons.
The pair led officers to another flat in the building, where they found a small amount of marijuana and arrested the tenant, a 44-year-old British Indian man, on suspicion of possessing dangerous drugs. Who needs enemies when you have buddies like these, eh? #PuffPuffPasstheBlame
The case is being investigated by officers from the Lantau Police District’s Crime Unit, who are trying to determine the relationship between the three suspects and their intentions.
