(Video) Police accompany stray dog on busy road, internet goes ‘awwwww’

We’re not sure if they’re doing it intentionally, but Hong Kong cops are winning on the internet at the moment, with yet another adorable good deed by officers making its way onto the web and into our hearts.

Earlier this week, it was a photo posted online of a police officer giving an old lady a piggy back ride back to her nursing home after she was reported missing that gave netizens a dose of the warm and fuzzies.

But Hong Kong’s police are not just lending a hand to old folks, you see, they are also helping stray dogs, too, as this video shows.

According to on.cc, the video was posted on a Facebook group dedicated to Hong Kong traffic-related news and accidents yesterday.

The video shows a police car and a police motorbike accompanying a stray dog that somehow ended up on Tuen Mun Road towards Tuen Mun Hospital at about 3pm yesterday afternoon.

The clip shows, the two vehicles driving slowly alongside the dog to make sure it stays on one side of the road and does not get hit by oncoming cars on the expressway.

At one point, the officer on the motorbike waves his right arm, motioning for the car behind him to slow down as an officer from the car gets out and appears to try to pick the dog up, which then runs away, causing the car and motorbike to drive a little bit faster to keep up with the pooch.

The move drew collective “awwws” from the internet, with netizens saying the officers are “full of love and care,” and praised the officers for averting potential traffic accidents.

The praise would surely be welcome by police, whose image has taken a battering at times since the 2014 Occupy protests.
