(Video) Man arrested after fighting and biting taxi driver inside cab

We all love to (verbally) bash taxi drivers for overcharging us and refusing to take us where we want to go. But spare a thought for this taxi driver who was beaten up by a passenger this week.

A video posted by Apple Daily shows a passenger in the backseat put the driver in a headlock at 4am on Monday.

The man who filmed the fracas, surnamed Chow, told the newspaper he heard the sound of a car screeching to a stop, followed by a moan. When he turned around, he saw the passenger try to pull the driver into the backseat with his arms around the driver’s neck.

“I saw him put the driver in a headlock with his left arm, and then use his right hand to hit the driver’s head. Then I saw him bite the driver’s arms and stomach. You could see the bite marks on his flesh, it looked like a zombie bite.”

Passersby called the police, who arrived at the scene 10 minutes later, and the video later shows an officer ask the passenger if he is drunk and to calm down.

According to Apple Daily, the taxi picked up the passenger from Sham Shui Po and the fight broke out when the car stopped at Shan Tung Street in Mong Kok. It is not clear what caused the altercation.

Both men sustained injuries in the fracas. The passenger was arrested and has to report to the police station in late December.
