Police allegedly told a South Asian woman to “go back to India” in Mong Kok

Several people claim that a police officer told a South Asian woman to “go back to India” in Mong Kok as scuffles erupted over protesters trying to reoccupy now-cleared streets.

A self-proclaimed “sorta reporta” tweeted this last night:

Another tweeted that two witnesses claimed to have seen the incident:

Apple Daily reports that the woman replied, without skipping a beat and in Cantonese no less: “You go back to the mainland!”

If this is true, then our hats’ off to this witty lady who managed to take a police officer’s act of racism in her stride.
