A man was caught red-handed taking upskirt photos of a woman in Causeway Bay on Thursday night.
An Apple Daily reader who identified by the surname Lam told the local paper that he was in Causeway Bay MTR station, near exit B2, when a man sneakily approached a woman in a black skirt. He had a black bag with a camera in it and was holding it near her.
Lam said one passerby yelled, “Someone is taking upskirt photos!” Alerted, the woman immediately called out for help as other commuters rushed toward the man.
They managed to surround him and stop him from leaving as he struggled to get away, grabbing him by the arms and neck.
When onlookers attempted to take photos of him, he tried to hide by putting his hand in front of his face.
One person rebuked: “Why are you scared of people taking photos of you when you dared to [take upskirt photos]? Does taking upskirt photos make you that happy? Go take photos of your mom instead!”
The police told Apple Daily that they received a report about the incident yesterday at around 6pm. When they arrived at the scene, they located the victim, a 33-year-old woman, and arrested a 28-year-old man surnamed Cheng.
