‘Tis getting hot, very hot, the Observatory has warned.

At noon, the weather service posted a very hot weather warning, cautioning residents the risk of heat stroke was high.

As of 12:30pm, the temperature was hovering around 32 degrees Celsius, with humidity at 72 percent and the UV index at nine, aka very high.

The Observatory urged residents to take it easy if working or playing outside, advising regular breaks, plenty of water, sunscreen and a suitable hat.

“Swimmers and those taking part in outdoor activities should use a sunscreen lotion of SPF 15 or above, and should re-apply it frequently,” they added.

“Beware of health and wellbeing of elderly or persons with chronic medical conditions. If you know of them, call or visit them occasionally to check if they need any assistance.”

According to the forecast, temperatures of 30 degrees and above are forecast for the next nine days, with showers expected over the weekend and early next week.
